[ V places it, giving it a little side turn so that its spout and handle don't take up too much room. He reaches down into a different crate, coming back with something. ]
That's what I think of this one, it's interesting.
[Well, at least he's having fun now, Constantin supposes. He sinks into the armchair in turn; if he's going to rearrange everything three times anyway, why not just watch V follow his decorative vision. Hm.]
Sure, yes. I bought all of them.
[Some of them were blessing-borne, but that's still asking, so. Eclectic is the theme.]
[ Without interruption, V will definitely start to group things. A few more teapots of different sizes here, the little things with faces which he personally asserts should all have names. Quiz him next time to see if he remembers them all. The metallic things, the porcelain things.
He only seems torn by the little animal figurines that overlap in categories, again mainly the little things with faces. He scoops them all from their individual categories and groups them together in a little menagerie at the center of things.
Does apparently have a weakness for cute statuettes of pets. ]
[Hm, he's going to have to leave the cute things with faces like that, isn't he... It would feel cruel to undo V's very particular menagerie-making just to alleviate his own restlessness. He'll make a note to move the wind chimes around a bunch instead.
He's not going to get up and interrupt, but he'll peer at the shelf from here in the chair. Hmm.]
[ He glances over his shoulder, looking amused. Is he enjoying himself, or can he just not stand the idea of Constantin living amongst all these unpacked crates and baskets after he leaves? ]
They make a pleasant picture, all together.
[ Cheerful, carefree. He supposes they are indeed mostly to theme. ]
I am not going to rearrange it for you every time I come.
[ Although, he might look for new additions; maybe with a more discerning eye. He rescues the last stragglers from the bottom of basket, a few rings and small baubles. It seems like a good enough place to stop. ]
But thank you for humoring me.
[ Or was it the other way, thank you for letting me humor you? ]
[ As if called, Shadow all but crawls off of V's skin.
The inky pigment of the tattoo on V's forearm picks up off his skin, blurring and changing into a different texture of black; ropey and gaining dimensionality. Something not yet formed puts its paw down on the edge of a chair and continues to be spiraled into full form, even as it approaches to sniff Constantin and investigate the room. V watches this with a bemused expression as he shakes out his hand, which briefly feels a little numb from the magic that has left it. ]
I hadn't thought to ask how the cat was enjoying living at the inn. There's more room in here.
[ To not be tripped over... but maybe more things to knock over and more trouble to make. ]

Is this an indefinite arrangement to not fully own the cat?
[ V sinks into a seat, watching the demon's whiskers bounce once as its nose touches the side of the proffered hand. Then it climbs onto the cushions behind Connie's head and sits there proudly. ]
Felix's cat, but living here with you. Is Felix coming as well?
[ These are the hard hitting questions of the day. Shadow's tail beats in a strange pattern against the upholstery, almost like maybe it has more than one of them at times. ]
I haven't asked! [Which answers very little, but it's also true, so. Give him time.] He goes hunting so often, it only makes sense to leave the cat with me. We'll see about the rest.

[It's, like, not alive... Come on, V.]

[ Don't hit him with unspoken rules, why would he know them. ]

[It is only generously "decoration," but.]

[ Hannibal's elephant. It gets placed on the shelf. Next! ]
This looks impractical for tea.

[Eyeing him now... you gonna name everything, bud?]

[ If you like this junk, tell him why. ]

[It's adorable, let him have this.]

Enjoying yourself? It looks nice.

[Which he's already doing, but it's the implication that he won't sweep it all back into a box later that counts. Enjoy this diversion.]

I'm leaving it how it is! Make your peace with this arrangement now, for it is forever.
[He's not really passionate about moving his kitsch around... Things will find their place and that will be that. Eventually.]
Although I may need to move that whole shelf to make room for the cat.
[The cat is not here, but will be in maybe a week or so, if he plays his cards right.]

Well, he isn't entirely my cat, but I'm sure he's devastated that he can't toss my books all over the floor these past few days.

How would that work? [Hmm, well anyway,] He's Felix's cat, technically, but I would say he likes me better.
[Constantin gives him more snacks, that is.]

[ Listen, it's his cat that can turn into a literal bridge if you need help with that project. ]
no subject
[Ha ha, no, he's not going to be like that. Sure, it's personal life time, why not.]
You still don't think I'm charming! Are you an expert already?
no subject
[ He is perfectly innocent, he made no such aspersions. ]
no subject
[Which is to say,] We share the cat.
